During 2024, the Russian Ministry of Culture will transition its central apparatus to the "Astra Linux" operating system, and all ministry structures plan to eliminate American Windows within the next 5-6 years. The project is quite extensive and will require significant support from the operating system developer — the Russian company "Astra Group" — the software provider has already announced ongoing cooperation with the ministry. "Astra Linux" is a certified operating system with built-in information protection tools for secure operation of IT infrastructures of any scale. It is actively used and distributed in Russia and is included in the "Unified Register of Russian Programs for Computers and Databases" of the Russian Ministry of Digital Development. "Astra Linux" is available for x86-64, ARM (Baikal), and E2K (Elbrus) platforms.
