By 2030, more than a thousand new mineral deposits are to be opened in Russia. This ambitious task was announced as part of the implementation of the federal project “Geology: Revival of the Legend.” Currently, our country is already a world leader, providing 27% of the world’s production of platinum group metals, controlling 22% of the world’s nickel reserves, 13% of cobalt, 15% of titanium, 12% of tungsten, 9% of copper, and 4% of rare earth elements and graphite. Additionally, Russia has a complete uranium processing chain – from ore to nuclear fuel. What are the future plans for the exploration, extraction, processing, and use of scarce raw materials? What challenges do companies face in developing deposits? How can we protect the environment amid the growing exploitation of the country’s mineral resource base? All these issues will be discussed at SPIEF as part of the business program.
