Young Russian females won one gold, two silver, and one bronze medal at the European Girls’ Mathematical Olympiad (EGMO), reports the Russian Ministry of Education. The competition was hosted by Georgia, and the Russian team participated online from the Primakov Gymnasium in the Moscow region.
Natalia Lenskaia from Moscow was the winner of the tournament. Another Muscovite, Elizaveta Zhukova, finished second. Additionally, Elizaveta Vinokurova from Tyumen secured a silver medal, and Yana Magizova from Saint Petersburg took the bronze.
The national team was led by Kirill Sukhov, a mathematics teacher from the Presidential Physics and Mathematics Lyceum No. 239 in Saint Petersburg.
As reported by “Russkiy Mir,” in 2023, the Russian team won four gold medals at the same olympiad, with each participant achieving a perfect score of 42 out of 42 possible.
