The festival will feature over 230 films, which is about 20% more than in 2023. Including the BRICS Festival, the total number of films in the programs is 260. The geography of the countries participating in the MIFF exceeds 50 nations.
The opening film of the 46th MIFF will be "Open Sky" by Mexican directors Mariana and Santiago Arriaga. The festival will conclude with the premiere of the Russian blockbuster "Mayor Grom: The Game" by Oleg Trofim.
The main competition program includes 11 films by filmmakers from Germany, Austria, Iran, Bangladesh, Romania, Moldova, Bulgaria, Qatar, Turkey, Mexico.
This year's MIFF main competition jury includes: Icelandic director, screenwriter, and producer Fridrik Thor Fridriksson (chair), Russian screenwriter, director, and producer Igor Voloshin, Russian actress Elena Lyadova, and Turkish documentary and feature film director Huseyin Karabey.
The BRICS jury is headed by Russian director and producer Alexey Pimanov. Jury members include Nayla Al Hajj (UAE), Yirgashewa Teshome Amare (Ethiopia), Zhao Shuguang (China), and Florence Masebe (South Africa).
