Russian manufacturer AvtoVAZ has unveiled its latest innovation - the Lada Iskra car. The model presentation, attended by a correspondent from "Russia 24," took place at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF). The car is planned to be produced in two body styles - sedan and estate. It will feature an eight-valve gasoline engine and at least two gearbox options. Preliminary information suggests that the price of the Lada Iskra will be around 1.5 million rubles. This is slightly more expensive than the Granta (starting from 1 million rubles in the basic configuration). Work on the new model began even before the start of the special operation in Ukraine and continued actively after the departure (https://t.me/russia24/4991) of the French Renault concern from Russia. Serial production of the Lada Iskra is scheduled to begin in early 2025.
