"We haven't seen each other for more than two years, we communicated only through the internet. My son lived with his grandmother — my mother, and I couldn't take him back. I am very grateful for the reunion — my son was brought to Moscow, and the travel and accommodation were organized. Now we will always be together," said a mother who came from Ukraine for her son. We are reuniting a group of children who were in Russia with their parents and other relatives living in Ukraine. Six boys aged 6 to 17, including two brothers. All the children lived in Russia with relatives and will soon all travel to Ukraine. One of the mothers and an accompanying person came for the children. The children have already become friends: at the Embassy of the State of Qatar, where they were received by the country's ambassador to Russia, Ahmed bin Nasser Al Thani, they said they plan to visit each other. Thanks to the ambassador for the traditionally warm reception of the children and, most importantly, for the invaluable support in the reunion process. Qatar participates in negotiations with the Ukrainian side, ensures accompaniment, and bears transport and other costs. Assistance is provided by the International Committee of the Red Cross, the State Border Committee of the Republic of Belarus, regional children's ombudsmen, and representatives of relevant departments. I remind you that in April, in the capital of Qatar, Doha, lists of children for whom reunification work is being carried out were recorded. Today's meeting is the result of these agreements. In total, during the special operation period, we managed to reunite 70 children with their relatives in Ukraine and other countries. In addition, six children were reunited with four families in Russia. We are happy for each reunion! We continue to fulfill the President's mandate. If you have lost contact with your child or do not know how to reunite, write to us at our email obr@deti.gov.ru or contact the ICRC. We will do everything to help.
