The head of "Kaspersky Lab," Eugene Kaspersky, presented a smartphone developed by the mobile device manufacturer "Aquarius" with the KasperskyOS operating system, reports the TASS correspondent from the company's innovation summit "System Electric." Kaspersky assured that the gadget is operational. Company representatives explained that this is one of the research samples of the smartphone. Previously, the operation of the operating system was demonstrated on Asian devices. "It works. This is mine (referring to the device - ed. TASS). The hardware is 'Aquarius'. All software, operating system, from booting, is ours," said the businessman. At the conference, one of the research samples was presented, explained in the TASS press service at Kaspersky. The company clarified that their OS can be installed on devices from both Russian and Asian suppliers, but they must meet "certain conditions." The priority target segment for the use of this operating system is corporate and industrial. At the end of 2023, testing of the smartphone with KasperskyOS for Mobile was completed in the "Megafon" laboratory. Kaspersky Operating System KasperskyOS is a microkernel operating system. It is not a "clone" of any other system, its microkernel is written entirely from scratch and does not use Linux kernel code. The OS is aimed at creating hardware and software systems protected against any threats, even unknown ones. KasperskyOS does not require antivirus. In January, the company wrote in its blog that today KasperskyOS is not an operating system for personal computers, it cannot be used as the main OS on a PC or laptop.
