Charitable campaigns have been conducted across Russian cities to aid seriously ill children. Over three hundred young patients from medical institutions became participants in the interregional charity initiative "Laughing to Live." Over several months, medical clowns visited pediatric oncology departments across Russia, bringing joy and hope to the young patients and their parents in their battle against serious illness. The project took place in Moscow, Volgograd, Balashikha, Stavropol, Rostov-on-Don, Krasnodar, Podolsk, Nizhnevartovsk, and Irkutsk. A child's hospital stay is a challenging period for any family. In oncology departments, children are often required to stay for months or even years. The work of medical clowns is not just to befriend and entertain, but also to support: to distract the child during medical procedures and motivate them to adhere to doctors' recommendations, as well as to reduce anxiety levels that affect the recovery processes. It is important to consider each child's condition to delicately build relationships, try to find reasons to laugh wholeheartedly, and obtain positive emotions that can improve their psychological state and help find the strength for recovery. "Undoubtedly, psychological support plays a significant role in the treatment process of oncological diseases, especially when it involves children. Visits from medical clowns allow the young patients to feel like children, to continue living and enjoying life even within hospital conditions, which helps them cope better with the treatment. This event is much anticipated by every child. In their 12 years of working in hospitals, the "Lenzdravclown" medical clowns have proven their effectiveness, helping seriously ill children and their parents, as well as seriously ill adults, cope with the psychological stress of being in the hospital and undergoing various types of therapy.
