At the "Șerpenți" memorial complex in Moldova, the remains of fifteen Soviet soldiers, who fell in battles against the Nazis on Moldovan soil, were reburied with honors. The remains of the heroes were discovered by Moldovan searchers last year, reports TASS. Accompanied by the melody of "The Sacred War," the soldiers were buried with military and Orthodox honors. The ceremony was attended by Moldovan parliamentarians, civil society members, and Russian, Belarusian, and Kazakh diplomats. Representatives of the president and the pro-European government of Moldova ignored the event. Moreover, they declined the organizers' request for an honor guard, a salute team, and a military band, which had previously participated in reburial ceremonies. The remains were found by searchers from the Moldovan organizations "August" and the Russian Historical and Patriotic Club in 2023. Alexei Petrovich, head of the Coordination Council of Russian Compatriots, noted that it was not possible to identify the fighters' identities. Speaking at the ceremony, the head of the Russian diplomatic mission, Oleg Vasnetsov, recalled the significant contribution of Moldovan fighters to the victory over Nazism. He emphasized the necessity of preserving the memory of the heroes, passing the baton to the children.
