Construction of the Russian-Chinese lunar station is planned to be completed by 2036. This statement was made by Sergei Saveliev, the Deputy Director General of Roscosmos for International Cooperation. "The goal of the lunar station, the construction of which is planned to be completed entirely by 2036, will be to conduct multidisciplinary and multi-purpose research aimed at studying and utilizing the Moon," Saveliev said at a meeting of the Budget and Financial Markets Committee of the Federation Council. Recall that in March 2021, China and Roscosmos signed a memorandum of understanding and cooperation in the field of creating the International Scientific Lunar Station. As part of the project implementation, the automated stations "Chang'e-7" and "Chang'e-8" will be sent to the Moon. The aim of the first missions is to test key technologies. This will allow the subsequent construction of a complex of experimental and research facilities that can be remotely controlled.
