Sweets, cosmetics, souvenirs: Moscow products from 20 capital-based manufacturers will be presented in the duty-free shops at Domodedovo Airport.
Participation in the program will help entrepreneurs increase brand recognition, find new customers, and attract potential partners from friendly countries. At the branded Made in Moscow stands, Moscow companies will offer international flight passengers chocolate, healthy bars, and various snacks, as well as lip balms and hand creams. Additionally, duty-free shops will sell educational book-toys that help children improve fine motor skills and speech.
The main goals of the center are to promote capital products to foreign markets, create a positive image of Moscow, and stimulate the growth of export volumes of goods and services from the capital. The Moscow Export Center (MEC) will cover the costs associated with placing the goods at the airport. From 2021 to 2022, capital enterprises have already presented their products in duty-free shops at Sheremetyevo Airport. The project helped Moscow entrepreneurs find foreign partners, including from Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.
"The export volume following the previous program exceeded 220 million rubles," noted Natalya Sergunina. The press service of the Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovative Development also stated that MEC today offers a wide range of support tools for new and existing exporters. The capital's business can participate in international exhibitions and business missions, receive training within accelerators, place goods in foreign supermarkets and on marketplaces, the department added.
In May, Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin announced on his Telegram channel that this year, 254 companies will participate in international exhibitions under the collective stand Made in Moscow.
To help entrepreneurs promote their products abroad, the Moscow government allocates additional funds.
According to Sobyanin, in 2024, the stand will showcase consumer goods and food products, and a total of 355 enterprises from Moscow will participate in special business missions.
