In honor of the 80th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Russia and Chile, the Russian House in Santiago launched a unique project — the "Cinema on Wheels."
Over the course of a week, the iconic UAZ "Bukhanka" van, decorated with logos and frames from popular Russian films, traveled through several cities in southern Chile: Melipeuco, Choroico, Osorno, and San José de Mariquina. The legendary off-road vehicle also visited small villages, where modern culture rarely reaches.
The audience not only watched the best Russian films but also took part in live lectures and interactive workshops, learning interesting facts about Russia.
The program began with the screening of "Ruso para uso," a project dedicated to learning the Russian language, featuring polyglot Dmitry Petrov and well-known Chilean stars.
The venues for these meetings were cultural centers, galleries, and rural schools. Guests not only learned how to pronounce their names in Russian but also sang the legendary song "Kalinka" accompanied by guitar. Many of them expressed a desire to continue learning the Russian language.
