No country from the anti-Hitler coalition invited Russia to the events dedicated to the victory in World War II, reported the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Peskov, to "Izvestia". He added that the Western media did not broadcast the Victory Parade, which took place in Red Square, live; it was only covered in the news. Dmitry Peskov emphasized that Russia will continue to convey and defend the truth about World War II, as well as broadcast Russia's main military parade. "We must continue to do this," he stressed. According to "Russian World", on May 9th, parades were held in seven hero cities and eighteen other Russian cities where the headquarters of military districts, fleets, and combined arms armies are located. Additionally, over 310 localities organized various festive events with the participation of troops from local garrisons. The main military parade — in Moscow's Red Square — was hosted by the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin. Combatants, veterans of the Great Patriotic War, and guests from foreign states — presidents of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Cuba, Laos, and Guinea-Bissau — were invited. In total, about 150,000 people and 2,500 pieces of military equipment and weaponry were involved in the Victory Day celebration.
