In Moscow, four new piers for electric river transport have been opened: “Krasnopresnensky Park,” “Nagatinsky,” “Zaton Novinki,” and “Kolomenskaya Embankment.” According to “Rossiyskaya Gazeta,” this information was provided by the city government. According to the Moscow Department of Transport, as reported by “Rossiyskaya Gazeta,” the new piers were used about 500 times on the first day of operation. Currently, two regular river routes are operating in the capital: “Kievsky – Fili Park” and “ZIL – Pechatniki.” This innovation creates additional convenience for residents and tourists, expanding the possibilities for getting around Moscow. Now, residents can comfortably reach different parts of the city while avoiding road traffic and enjoying the views from the water. It is expected that the new piers will boost interest in river cruises and tours, which will have a positive effect on tourism and contribute to the development of urban infrastructure. The modern river vessels used on these routes are equipped with environmentally friendly electric engines, minimizing harmful impacts on the environment. The city government states that this solution is part of its strategy to increase transportation’s ecological level and reduce carbon emissions. In the future, new routes and piers are planned to further develop the river transport network in Moscow.
