At three sites of PAO "Yakovlev" (Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Irkutsk, and Zhukovsky near Moscow), during the recent Children's Day in Russia (June 1, 2024), a significant event took place. Thousands of employees' children had the opportunity to visit the company's production sites and testing base. In Zhukovsky, children were greeted by the MS-21-310 aircraft with tail number 73051, the Sukhoi Superjet-95LR of Red Wings airline with registration number RA-89156, and the latest version of PAO "Yakovlev" SJ-100 aircraft with tail number 97021, which represents an import-substituted aircraft but still with standard SaM-146 engines. Guided tours of the "Superjet" aircraft and its onboard systems were conducted by the crews of Red Wings airline. Both pilots and flight attendants were well-prepared and explained the aircraft very clearly and concisely, and questions from the youngest visitors were prioritized. In the MS-21-310 aircraft, guests were greeted by PAO "Yakovlev" test pilots, Heroes of Russia Roman Petrovich Taskaev and Oleg Evgenievich Mutovin. The children were introduced to the profession and workplace of a flight test engineer by Pavel Sokut, and onboard were also technicians and specialists in various aircraft systems. On the import-substituted SJ-100 with tail number 97021, young guests were also awaited by test pilots and engineering-technical staff. In addition to the aircraft, everyone had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with a model of the MS-21 cockpit, try their hand at being a pilot of the new liner, listen to lectures on aviation systems and engines, and participate in one of the many master classes designed for both young children and high school students who were also present at the event. After gaining knowledge, the children could relax in the recreation area, have a snack, or play in the dry pool with plastic balls. Everyone found an activity to their liking. After the two-hour event ended, the young guests received branded bags with gifts, avoiding the disassembly of the aircraft into souvenirs along with the crews (joke). The event was very necessary and well-organized, and can safely be called nationwide!
