On May 16, a special flight from Moscow delivered 21 tons of humanitarian aid, including vegetable oil and wheat flour, to the people of Afghanistan at Kabul International Airport. This action was carried out by the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) on the instructions of the President of the Russian Federation.
The aid is intended for the population of Baghlan province, which was recently affected by a devastating flood. The event was conducted as part of the international projects "People Together Through the Years" and "Russia With You" with the support of Rossotrudnichestvo.
The humanitarian action is particularly significant in light of the recent destructive flooding in northeastern Afghanistan. This natural disaster resulted in the deaths of over 300 Afghans and caused substantial damage to housing and agricultural infrastructure.
The ceremony at the airfield was attended by the chairman of the Volgograd Regional Public Organization for Cultural Development "House of Friendship," K.G. Farniyev (advisor to the head of the Federal Agency for Nationalities Affairs), the head of its board of trustees F. Rona, and the chairman of the public organization "Afghan National-Cultural Autonomy of Volgograd" A. Manan.
