On September 25, a rally dedicated to the launch of the International Patriotic Campaign "Moscow — Victory Capital: Memory of Generations" was held at the Victory Museum on Poklonnaya Hill.
The event was attended by veterans of the Great Patriotic War, Heroes of the Soviet Union and Russia, leaders of veteran organizations from CIS countries, representatives of the Moscow city government, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Labor, the Russian Ministry of Defense, cadets from military schools, and students of cadet classes in the capital.
During the event, it was noted that Western ideologists are attempting to slander the shared history of CIS countries, and "under their influence, there are cases of defilement of monuments to outstanding people and the destruction of memorials honoring heroic deeds." Participants also emphasized that young people are "subjected to intense propaganda," with efforts to convince them that the entire history of post-Soviet countries is one of repression and that the main goal in life is not to build for the good of society.
As part of the campaign, meetings with veterans, youth, and memorial events are planned in allied republics, as well as a scientific-practical conference on the topic "The Contribution of the Peoples of Allied Republics to the Great Victory of the Soviet People over Fascist Germany and its Satellites in the Great Patriotic War."
The international patriotic campaign will also take place in Almaty, Bishkek, and Dushanbe.
Organizer: The International Union "Commonwealth of Public Veteran (Pensioner) Organizations of Independent States."
