The Russian sailing frigate "Shtandart" is leaving Spanish territorial waters due to the country's corresponding ban, without resolving all the equipment and supply issues. At the same time, despite the authorities' restrictions, during the short stop, the ship's crew was warmly received by the local residents and received their support, Captain Vladimir Martus told TASS. "The 'Shtandart' is heading to the open sea, we are forced to leave Spanish territorial waters. The maritime administration, having listened to our arguments, unfortunately did not take our side, despite the fact that we need spare parts for the generator and that we have an insufficient supply of water and food. We are forced to comply with the maritime administration's decision, now we are going beyond the 12-mile zone, and we will try to explain the complexity of the situation from there once more," said Martus. At the same time, he noted that the frigate's crew received help from local residents during the stop. "It was nice to see how the locals helped us: our small crew was struggling to lift the heavy anchor, but several people from the beach came on paddleboards to help us lift the 250 kg anchor and anchor chain. They even brought us a whole pot of barbecue, so for a while, our spirits were high," the agency's interlocutor specified. Earlier, the maritime administration in the Spanish autonomous community of Galicia ordered the sailing frigate "Shtandart" to leave the kingdom's territorial waters. The ship was located off the coast of the settlement of La Isla de Arosa. As stated by law enforcement agencies, the frigate entered the kingdom's waters without permission. The "Shtandart" is an exact replica of a warship built by Peter I in 1703 to defend Saint Petersburg. The modern "Shtandart" was built in 1999. The project office is located in the Northern Capital, but the frigate has long been sailing in the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean, implementing training programs for those who want to try themselves as sailors, participating in filming movies, and various festivals.
