a new electronic service for compatriots abroad Starting from July 1, 2024, Russia will launch an electronic service for compatriots living abroad – the "Homeland" card. On June 7, the electronic "Homeland" card was presented at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum by Rossotrudnichestvo and the development company from the Rostec structure. The "Homeland" card is a way to help compatriots abroad access Russian government services. It is a digital tool for voluntary identification, through which they can obtain a qualified digital signature abroad and remotely participate in all economic and legal processes in Russia. But that's not all. The service includes various modules. The news feed of the TASS Information Agency, so that people have access to verified and authenticated information about Russia. The media services of the "Way Home" project, which provides advice to people wishing to move to Russia. In the first year of the project's existence, more than 155,000 users received consultations, and with the direct help of its volunteers, 2,500 families moved to Russia. The platform will also host regional support programs for migrants. The first materials will be provided by the most active regions – Kaliningrad and Nizhny Novgorod regions. This section will become an alternative to the automated information system "Compatriots", which is simply inaccessible in the EU, USA, Canada, and other countries. The "Jobs in Russia" database – for foreigners or compatriots looking for job vacancies in our country. In the "Tourism" and "Education" sections, those interested will find answers to specific questions on these topics. In addition, soon, in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a "Consulates" section will appear on the platform. And, of course, all information about the 80 Rossotrudnichestvo Russian Houses opened in 70 countries around the world. The preliminary interdepartmental coordination and approval process took the developers a year and a half. Many different government structures are involved in the informational content of the service sections. And, of course, the main task for the programmers was to ensure the security and safety of users' personal data. Starting July 1, 2024, detailed consultations on working with the electronic "Homeland" card can be obtained at all Russian consulates and Russian Houses. It is available at the link and can already be accessed today.
