This luxurious mansion is sometimes called the "House of Irene Adler" by locals, as it was here that the heroine of the Soviet TV series The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson (episode "The Treasures of Agra," 1983) lived. The mansion also appeared in other Soviet films. For instance, it was featured in the TV adaptation of the operetta Die Fledermaus (1979). Soviet viewers also saw the mansion in Don Cesar de Bazan (1989) and many other films. The dacha was built in 1898 at the request of baker’s wife Eugenia Gauswald. However, shortly after, wealthy entrepreneur Anatoly Demidov purchased the house and slightly altered the building’s exterior. In the 2000s, this Art Nouveau mansion fell into disrepair, but it was successfully restored. Now, it once again attracts tourists and bloggers. https://t.me/rusbeyond
