Two potentially hazardous asteroids, comparable in size to five "Motherland" statues, will pass near Earth on December 3 and 4. Asteroid 2007 JX2 (402.3 meters in diameter) will come as close as 5,532,113 km to Earth, while 2020 XR (387.7 meters in diameter) will approach within 2,209,287 km. According to Newsweek, the size of these asteroids is comparable to the height of the Empire State Building skyscraper in New York City, USA, which measures 443.2 meters with its spire and 381 meters without it. NASA classifies asteroids larger than 140 meters in diameter that come within 7.5 million kilometers of Earth as "potentially hazardous." Additionally, astronomer Leonid Elenin from the M.V. Keldysh Institute of Applied Mathematics at the Russian Academy of Sciences previously warned that asteroid 2024 PT5 will approach Earth again before the New Year. The celestial body is expected to pass at a distance of several million kilometers, which Elenin described as absolutely safe.
