The Russian national football team defeated Brunei in a friendly match with a score of 11:0. The Russian team surpassed its previous record for the number of goals scored in a single match.
The match between Russia and Brunei took place in Krasnodar and drew 26,865 fans. The game ended 11:0 in favor of the hosts. The scoring opened in the 1st minute with a goal by midfielder Ivan Oblyakov. By the 10th minute, the score had already become overwhelming: Brunei’s Nurikhwan Otman scored an own goal, followed by a goal from Russian defender Yevgeny Morozov. Later, Oblyakov scored again, with additional goals from Lechi Sadulaev, Nikita Krivtsov, Tamerlan Musaev, Andrei Mostovoy, Alexander Chernikov, Alexei Batrakov, and Arsen Adamov.
This is the largest victory in the history of the national team. Additionally, the Russian team set a new personal record for the number of goals scored in one game. The previous record was set in June 2019 during a European Championship qualifying match against San Marino, where Russia scored nine unanswered goals.
The result of this match will be considered in the FIFA rankings. Brunei is ranked 184th in the FIFA rankings, while Russia holds the 34th position. The next match for the Russian team will take place on November 19 against Syria in Volgograd.
Previously, Russia’s record victory was against San Marino (9:0) on June 8, 2019.
