From November 7 to 14, Moscow will showcase the best works by Russian and international filmmakers dedicated to reflecting on the history of 20th-century Russia and the spiritual, cultural, and scientific heritage of compatriots. Screenings will be held as part of the XVIII International Film Festival "Russian Abroad."
This year’s program will feature more than 50 fictional and documentary films, thematic events, and exhibitions.
The competition for feature films includes movies about the history of the Auschwitz "death camp," the creators of the national martial art — Sambo, and a multi-part detective series focusing on the life of an Orthodox Old Believer community in Argentina.
The non-fiction program includes works by renowned masters of contemporary documentary cinema. These films offer insight into the lives of compatriots in various countries and the motivations of those born abroad to return to the homeland of their ancestors — Russia.
The competition jury comprises experts from Russia, Belarus, China, Australia, and France.
