From August 2 to 7, the III International Film Festival of Debut Films of the Eurasian Continent “One Sixth” will be held in Yekaterinburg. The festival will serve as a communication platform for the exchange of experience between film industry professionals from Europe and Asia.
The festival will open with the screening of Evgeny Grigoryev’s crime tragicomedy “Headlong”. Its main character, Andrei, a modest teacher of ancient literature, becomes an involuntary witness to a bank robbery and, due to a corrupt investigator, also becomes a suspect in committing this crime.
Thus, Andrei meets Sergey, the head of the bank’s security service, and the friendship between these two opposites triggers a series of unexpected, tragicomic, and strange events. The main roles are played by Egor Koreshkov, Vladimir Bitokov, Nadezhda Mikhalkova, Pavel Derevyanko, and Roma Zver.
“We reflected on the difficulties modern men face in today’s realities. What they are willing to do in certain life circumstances and what indifference can lead to,” said the film’s director, president of the “One Sixth” festival, Evgeny Grigoryev.
The competition program will include films from different countries, which will be evaluated in the categories “Best National Feature Debut”, “Best Foreign Feature Debut”, “Best National Documentary Debut”, “Best Foreign Documentary Debut”, “Best Debut at the Festival”, and “Best Acting Ensemble”. The festival has also established three special nominations: “Grand Prix of the Feature Competition”, “Grand Prix of the Documentary Competition”, and “Audience Award”.
All screenings and events of the International Debut Film Festival “One Sixth” can be attended for free with prior online registration.
