The participants of this expedition traveled nearly 33,000 kilometers, becoming the first in the world to circumnavigate Russia along its border using wheeled vehicles – ATVs, cars, and amphibious vehicles, reports the "Vokrug Sveta" portal.
The expedition began in January in Murmansk, and after ten months of travel, the participants returned to their starting point. During this time, they visited 58 regions of the country, exploring the Arctic, the Far East, the Urals, the Caucasus, the South, Central Russia, and the Kaliningrad region. They saw polar bears and visited all the extreme points of the country: Cape Chelyuskin, Cape Dezhnev, the village of Kurush, and the Curonian Spit.
This achievement was included in the Russian Book of Records under the official title "First Ever Route Along the Northern Sea Route on Land by Wheeled All-Terrain Vehicle in One Stage."
Among the most intriguing discoveries was a spy buoy. The device, frozen in the ice of the Chukchi Sea, was found at the easternmost point of the route, near the maritime border between Russia and the United States.
The expedition participants say they plan to create a series of films and write several children's books based on stories from this journey.
