The Russian automotive group AGR (LLC AGR), the official representative of Skoda and Volkswagen in the country, is recalling 31,741 Skoda Rapid and 23,943 Volkswagen Polo cars manufactured between 2014 and 2023.
The recalled vehicles may accumulate an electrostatic charge on the surface of the fuel lines, which could lead to damage to the fuel pipe material, Rosstandart reported.
It is noted that charge accumulation may occur during prolonged idling operation and at temperatures below -35°C.
All recalled vehicles will have a grounding cable installed on the fuel filter. Rosstandart added that the work will take about half an hour and will be free of charge for vehicle owners.
AGR representatives will notify drivers whose cars are subject to the recall.
Additionally, owners can independently check whether their vehicle is included in the recall by visiting the Rosstandart website or the Auto.ru service and entering the VIN code in the registry.
