Starting June 20, universities begin accepting documents from applicants. This year, over a million people plan to enroll. For them, more than 6205 thousand budget-funded places are allocated.
Winners and prize-winners of the All-Russian School Olympiad, international Olympiads, and Olympiads from the list (http://publication.pravo.gov.ru/document/0001202309290072) of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation can become students without entrance exams. This also includes participants in sports competitions for sports included in the Olympic Games.
Those who can count on free education, but only after passing the entrance exams, include:
orphans and children under 18 years old who are left without parental care;
orphans and children under 23 years old who lost their parents before adulthood;
children with disabilities, disabled persons of groups I and II, as well as disabled since childhood;
citizens who became disabled during military service and combat veterans.
To take advantage of the benefit, it is enough to present supporting documents. For such students, universities provide at least 10% of the total number of budget-funded places.
In addition, there are separate quotas for free education in higher education institutions. Eligible for these are:
Heroes of the Russian Federation and holders of three Orders of Courage;
soldiers of the Armed Forces (AF) mobilized and volunteers who participated in the special operation (https://t.me/russia24/7154) (SO) as well as their children;
participants in hostilities as part of the AF of the DPR and LPR since May 2014;
children of military personnel, employees of federal bodies, and government agencies sent to other countries to participate in hostilities;
children of doctors who contracted coronavirus at work and died from it.
Recall that from 2025, the concept of "bachelor's degree" will disappear (https://t.me/russia24/8755) from Russian universities. This is due to Russia's rejection of the Bologna system and its transition to its own education system.
