On June 24, the fifth BRICS Sports Games concluded in Moscow, where 387 prize sets were contested. The Russian national team took first place overall, winning 509 medals. They secured 266 gold, 142 silver, and 101 bronze medals. Moscow athletes, part of the national team, won 141 medals: 82 gold, 31 silver, and 28 bronze. This represents 28% of the total Russian medals. A total of 2,852 athletes participated in the competitions. The Russian team consisted of 631 people, including 142 representatives from Moscow's top sports institutions. Moscow athletes participated in 20 sports and won gold medals in synchronized swimming, heavy and light athletics, wushu, sambo, table tennis, artistic gymnastics, rowing, diving, chess, swimming, and fencing. The fifth BRICS Sports Games were held in Kazan and Moscow from June 13 to 24. This year, the competitions featured 27 disciplines, including 18 Olympic sports (badminton, boxing, breakdancing, rowing, canoeing, equestrian sports, judo, heavy and light athletics, table tennis, swimming, diving, synchronized swimming, wrestling, artistic and rhythmic gymnastics, tennis, fencing) and nine non-Olympic sports (acrobatic rock-and-roll, basketball biathlon, belt wrestling, karate, kuryash, sambo, wushu, football biathlon, and chess).
