The first Russian vessel of project 00393 on hydrogen fuel without foreign components has been built.
The first 15-meter hybrid leisure vessel "Ecobalt" on hydrogen fuel without foreign components was launched in August 2024 at the Zelenodolsk Shipyard. The new vessel will accommodate 10 passengers, and the crew will consist of 2 people. With a speed of 12-18 km/h, the vessel will operate on rivers or lakes.
The leisure and excursion vessel of project 00393 was developed by the Central Design Bureau "BaltSudoproekt" of the Krylov State Research Center. Its keel was laid in February 2023.
It was previously reported that the vessel's power plant was developed and manufactured in Russia. It includes not only a hydrogen fuel system but also an energy storage unit, allowing the vessel to operate on water for up to 12 hours. The shipbuilders' immediate plans include testing the vessel and completing the development of a universal functional module for the fuel cell power plant.
