A unique experiment has been conducted in Russia – the brain of a rat has been connected to artificial intelligence, according to RIA Novosti, citing data from Neiry Laboratory. Reportedly, this experiment has no parallel in the world. It was conducted by the biotech laboratory Neiry in collaboration with scientists from Moscow State University. After connecting to the AI, the rat, named Pythia, was able to answer a wide range of questions, acting as a relay for the neural network. Though the responses are currently limited to "yes" and "no," the scope of topics was quite broad, covering historical dates, chemistry, physics, biology, and computer science. This experiment was conducted as part of the "AI Intuition" project, aimed at using artificial intelligence as an assistant for the human brain. The goal is to create a "human-computer" interface, enabling direct interaction with a neural network without spending time on gadgets for input and response retrieval. The rat successfully answered hundreds of scientific questions on topics like quasars, myelin sheaths, the Python language, and Albert Einstein's birthday. Scientists note that, in the foreseeable future, any person with an implanted neurointerface could do the same. “At Neiry, we are developing neurotechnology-based products for various industries. The results of the ‘Pythia’ experiment mark one of the stages of the ‘AI Intuition’ project. For example, users might be able to sense the truthfulness of a statement or intuitively determine the correct answer in a test, which would increase human efficiency. And considering that humanity’s entire evolution is aimed at increasing efficiency, our project carefully advances humanity to the next level, where AI becomes a reliable symbiotic partner,” commented Neiry’s CEO, Alexander Panov.
