10 kilograms of precious stones and amber – this is exactly how much St. Petersburg artist Anastasia Nikiforova needed to create a panel inspired by Vincent Van Gogh's masterpiece "Starry Night." Anastasia chose amber as the main material for her works for a reason. She knows the sunny stone very well thanks to her father, artist Alexander Zhukov, who led the work on recreating the famous Amber Room. In her works, Nikiforova combines amber with mother-of-pearl, metal, wood, precious stones, and even paper. All of these, in her opinion, highlight the natural beauty of the stone. The result is vivid sketches of nature, portraits, and panels. For example, for the portrait of an oriental beauty, she used mahogany, ecobuc, agate, and poplar root. She also experiments by creating works inspired by the creations of Alphonse Mucha, Vincent Van Gogh, Miho Hirano, and Karol Baka. Anastasia Nikiforova's works can be seen at the "Amber Poetry" exhibition at the Kaliningrad "Amber Museum" (https://t.me/Ambermuseum) until July 21.
