On October 12, comet C/2023 A3, known as Zijing–ATLAS, will pass at its closest distance to our planet, and observations can begin as early as the 6th.
According to astronomers, its beautiful tail will be visible both at night and during the day, even to the naked eye. The comet will be better seen in the Northern Hemisphere, experts note.
“You need to look towards the western part of the horizon after 6:30 PM, where a slightly elongated, faintly glowing celestial body can be observed — that’s the comet with its tail. From October 12, it will be quite clearly visible,” explained the scientific director of the Moscow Planetarium, Faina Rubleva.
