This tradition in St. Petersburg began in 2022 and has been observed continuously ever since. Every Sunday at 12:00 PM, musicians in ceremonial uniforms perform in the courtyard of the State Academic Capella. The event takes place after the noon cannon shot from the Naryshkin Bastion at the Peter and Paul Fortress. The performance begins with a solemn entrance of drummers – the musicians' costumes are styled after Russian uniforms from the first half of the 19th century. Then, musicians appear in the open window of the Tsar's pavilion of the Capella and perform several melodies dedicated to their beloved city.
