In October, the Europe Wine & Spirit Awards 2024 (https://europe-awards.com/) took place — one of the largest and most prestigious wine and spirits competitions in Europe.
Awards were presented to participants after a “blind tasting” by a distinguished jury of 92 judges. In addition to quality, the wine’s price and packaging were also evaluated. The results for Russian producers are impressive.
The top prize — “triple gold” — was awarded to Vedernikov Winery for its "Tsimlyansky Black 2017." The same quality mark was granted to the Reserve Brut sparkling wine from "Abrau-Durso."
"Double gold" went to PDO Chardonnay 2022 from "Abrau-Durso."
The "gold" was awarded to the sparkling Brut d'Or Blanc de Blancs, also by "Abrau," while "bronze" went to their "Imperial Brut Vintage."
Very soon, wine awards will be presented in Russia as well — at the III Russian Winemaking Forum, the winners of the "AVVR Cup" will be announced, and awards in the name of Lev Golitsyn will be given for outstanding contributions to the wine industry.
