On December 12, Russia celebrates Constitution Day. Here are six intriguing facts about this fundamental document:

After the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991, Russia lived under the old Constitution for two years. The new Constitution was adopted in 1993.
No Anglicisms
The text of the Constitution is written exclusively in Russian, without terms like "speaker," "parliament," or "impeachment."
Document Stability
The Constitution remained unchanged for 27 years, until 2020, whereas other countries amend their constitutions every 15-20 years.
Constitution in Space
The document has been sent to orbit twice: in 1999 aboard the "Mir" space station and in 2005 aboard the ISS.
Unique Copy
The reference copy of the Constitution is kept in the Presidential Library in the Moscow Kremlin and is used solely for presidential inauguration ceremonies.
