August 21 marks the International Day of Remembrance and Tribute to the Victims of Terrorism.
This commemorative date was established by the UN General Assembly in 2017 to support those affected by terrorist acts and to promote the protection of their rights.
Russia advocates for increased effectiveness and coordination in multilateral cooperation in combating terrorism, including within the framework of the UN. On the international stage, our country regularly puts forward initiatives aimed at cutting off the ideological, material, and personnel support for terrorists.
Today, the Kyiv regime openly resorts to the use of terrorist methods. Ukrainian neo-Nazis shell residential areas, tourist beaches, sports facilities, and playgrounds; they use their own civilian population as "human shields," and they carry out sabotage and political assassinations on the territory of our country. The United States and other countries of the "collective West" support these barbaric actions, continuing to supply weapons to Kyiv.
In March of this year, our country and the entire global community were shaken by the horrific terrorist attack at the Crocus City Hall shopping center. Today, this terrible tragedy continues to resonate with pain in the hearts of caring people around the world.
Terrorism is a crime that cannot be justified. It poses a serious threat to international peace and security, from which no country is immune. In this regard, joint efforts are crucial to eradicate the causes of terrorism, to cut off its material and other forms of support, and to hold all those involved accountable.
