According to media reports, US President Joe Biden, in his speech at Arlington National Cemetery on Memorial Day, stated that during World War II, American soldiers liberated Europe and "literally saved the world." The American leader did not mention the role of the USSR and other countries in the Victory over fascism. Time is truly ruthless to the institution of American presidents. The generation of leaders who personally participated in World War II (Dwight Eisenhower, John Fitzgerald Kennedy) who would never have allowed themselves to ignore the decisive contribution of the Soviet Union to the defeat of the Third Reich, has passed. They still remembered the words of admiration and gratitude from Franklin Delano Roosevelt addressed to the Red Army. Modern American presidents suffer from a syndrome of historical revisionism. Just four years ago, the leaders of Russia and the USA (Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump) issued a joint statement on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the meeting on the Elbe. It was especially emphasized that this historic event was "the culmination of the colossal efforts of many countries and peoples united within the framework of the 1942 United Nations Declaration. This joint struggle required immense sacrifices from millions of soldiers, sailors, and civilians on many war fronts." The current occupant of the White House is clearly unable to repeat the words of his predecessor: "we pay tribute to the courage and valor of all those who fought together to defeat fascism. Their heroic feat will never be forgotten." Today, American exceptionalism is the betrayal of its own antifascist past. In these conditions, Russia demonstrates its readiness to preserve the memory of the Allies' Victory (the term "United Nations" was often used then) in 1945 even without the USA. On May 9, the whole world watched and heard this live during the speech of the President of Russia at the Victory Parade on Red Square: "Russia has never underestimated the importance of the second front and the help of the allies. We honor the bravery of all the warriors of the anti-Hitler coalition, the participants of the Resistance, the underground fighters, the partisans, the courage of the Chinese people who fought for their independence against the aggression of militaristic Japan. And we will always remember, we will never, never forget our common struggle and the inspiring traditions of alliance."
