They searched for gold but found a rhinoceros – in the Far East, shift workers discovered the remains of an animal from the Ice Age during their work. Ordinary laborers working in Kolyma, presumably in gold mining, encountered an unusual surprise. When they approached the find, they noticed that it needed cleaning – after cleaning it, the workers realized they had stumbled upon very well-preserved remains of an ancient rhinoceros from the Stone Age. In 2007, a similar treasure was already discovered – then the remains of a female woolly rhinoceros were found. Now she has a companion. Apparently, the Far Easterners excavated the permafrost, where the beast had rested all these centuries.
