The first St. Petersburg International Jazz Festival, held in the city from July 22 to 28, attracted over 200,000 spectators, according to the festival's press service. The main venue for the festival events was Yusupov Garden. "From July 22 to 28, 2024, the cultural capital hosted the inaugural St. Petersburg International Jazz Festival, which gathered over 600 musicians from Russia and abroad and more than 200,000 spectators," the statement reads. The press service also noted that online broadcasts of the festival events attracted over 1.5 million viewers across the country. Additionally, most of the concerts were free for the residents and guests of St. Petersburg. During the festival, the public was introduced to renowned Cuban jazz pianist Gonzalo Rubalcaba, outstanding bass player Ildar Abdrazakov, the Jazzirama ensemble from Uzbekistan, guitarist Cenk Erdogan, Turkish jazz group Akra Jazz Band, Larisa Dolina and Oleg Akkuratov Trio, L’One (Jazz Set), Oleg Lundstrem Jazz Orchestra, Anna Chipovskaya, pianist Daniil Kramer, Igor Sklyar and Jazz Classic Community, Yevgeny Margulis and his band, among others. On the festival's public stages, including Arts Square, Tauride Garden, Dolgoe Lake Park, and Sevkabel Port, famous Russian performers and groups performed: Sasha Almazova, Vitaly Pogosyan, Konstantin Khazanovich, Amy Peters, Andrey Kondakov, Ural Dixieland of Igor Burko, and many others. Additionally, numerous performances took place as part of the extensive club program of the festival. The festival was supported by the St. Petersburg Committee for Culture, the Presidential Cultural Initiatives Fund, the Igor Butman Foundation, and the Association of Jazz Musicians.
