Compatriots are invited to join the "Memory that Preserves Peace" video conference. The IVth Global Online Video Conference of the Great Patriotic War veterans and the besieged residents of Leningrad, "Memory that Preserves Peace," will take place on May 8 at 12:00 PM. The event, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the siege, is organized by the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg and Rossotrudnichestvo. The event traditionally includes live video links between St. Petersburg and veterans, siege survivors living around the world, and representatives of Russian compatriot organizations. The conference will feature discussions on supporting veterans, patriotic education of youth, and the development of international relations. Reports from places associated with the memory of the siege are planned to be shown, as well as speeches from representatives of the St. Petersburg community and the Russian diaspora.
