Press Release According to Presidential Decree of the Russian Federation No. 702 dated August 19, 2024, "On Providing Humanitarian Support to Persons Sharing Traditional Russian Spiritual and Moral Values," Romanian citizens can obtain visas for entry into Russia for up to three months at the Consular Section of the Russian Embassy in Bucharest and the General Consulate of Russia in Constanța. These visas allow for subsequent application to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for a temporary residence permit without the need to confirm knowledge of the Russian language, Russian history, or its legal foundations. The list of necessary documents for obtaining a visa and subsequent relocation to Russia includes: Application (to be filled out and submitted in person by the Romanian citizen during their appointment at the Consular Section of the Embassy or the General Consulate in Constanța), which must contain the surname, first name, date of birth, gender, passport number, applicant’s residential address, planned place of relocation (Russian Federation region, locality), and information about minor children accompanying the applicant; A valid international passport; Visa application form completed on the website visa.kdmid.ru, printed, and signed by the applicant; One 3.5x4.5 cm photograph; A health insurance policy with coverage of at least 30,000 USD or EUR for the entire duration of the visa. If holding Romanian residency (except for EU citizens, who do not need to present Romanian residency), stateless persons or citizens of the following countries may also apply for a visa to relocate to Russia at the Embassy in Bucharest or the General Consulate in Constanța: Australia, Austria, Albania, Andorra, Bahamas, Belgium, Bulgaria, the United Kingdom (including British Crown dependencies and British Overseas Territories), Germany, Greece, Denmark, Ireland, Iceland, Spain, Italy, Canada, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Micronesia, Monaco, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Republic of Korea, San Marino, North Macedonia, Singapore, Slovenia, the United States of America, Taiwan (China), Finland, France, Croatia, Montenegro, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Sweden, Estonia, Japan.
