The International Federation of Bodybuilding has decided to restore the right for Russian and Belarusian athletes to compete under their national flags and anthems during the World and European Championships. Alexander Vishnevsky, the President of the Russian Bodybuilding Federation (FBBR), confirmed this information. "This process took a bit longer than expected, but everything was resolved in our favor," Vishnevsky told Readovka. Previously, bodybuilders from our country were only allowed to participate in competitions in a neutral status. The Russian Bodybuilding Federation had long been officially demanding that the International Federation of Bodybuilding (IFBB) vote and return the ability for athletes from Russia and Belarus to once again compete under their national flags. And finally, it has happened — the rules have been changed, and justice has prevailed. Already in September, during the Men's World Championship in Iran, Russian bodybuilders will compete under their national flag and anthem. The 2024 Men's World Bodybuilding Championship for men, juniors, and veterans will be held in Iran on Kish Island from September 23 to 27.
