The International Circus Arts Festival "Without Borders" will bring together more than two hundred artists from countries in Europe, Asia, Africa, and Latin America in St. Petersburg, reports TASS. The festival will take place in mid-September. The venue will be the St. Petersburg State Circus on the Fontanka, known as the Cinizelli Circus. Artists from many countries will showcase their skills and talents, including performers from Brazil, Argentina, Czechia, Italy, Mexico, Ethiopia, Vietnam, Germany, Ghana, Romania, France, Switzerland, and China. Russia will be represented by vaulters and acrobats, clowns, and animal trainers. The show has been in preparation for over a year. According to Sergey Belyakov, head of "Rosgoscirk," the acts, many of which will be presented to the public for the first time, will demonstrate the high level of national circus schools. As reported by "Russkiy Mir," the festival, organized by the Russian Ministry of Culture and "Rosgoscirk," was born in 2022 after Russian circus performers were denied participation in the Monte Carlo Festival. Sergey Belyakov, who chaired the jury, noted that the festival, aimed at international cooperation, has become especially relevant today. It proves that the circus can spark collaboration. Last year, artists from France, South American countries, and the USA were among those eager to participate. "Rosgoscirk" noted that invitations to the festival were extended to circus artists who passed the competitive selection process.
