From June 6 to 9, the BRICS Skate Cup by Grand Skate Tour sports festival will take place in Nizhny Novgorod. This event features skateboarding competitions among professional athletes from countries that are members of the BRICS union or have expressed a desire to join it. This year, participants from more than 20 countries will join the project, including Azerbaijan, Argentina, Bahrain, Belarus, Brazil, Venezuela, Zimbabwe, Egypt, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, China, Colombia, and others. The sports program of the festival includes free riding in the vertical ramp, skateboarding competitions, and master classes, which will take place in a specially created skate park on the Nizhny Volzhskaya Embankment, as well as in the sports complex "Goradrom." The cultural program will be held at the Sber Public Center in the Creative Space GARAGE CO-WORK, featuring premieres of documentaries and videos about skateboarding, open lectures with foreign guests and Russian opinion leaders in the field of action sports, culture, urban planning, park construction, entrepreneurs, and an exhibition of contemporary artists and photographers.
