Google has banned the creation of accounts using Russian phone numbers — the company has not commented on the change.
Google has prohibited registering accounts with Russian phone numbers. When entering a phone number registered in Russia, the site displays the message: "This number cannot be used for verification."
There has been no official statement from the American company regarding these changes.
Such restrictions may be related to a new package of sanctions (https://t.me/readovkanews/85461) against Russia, in which the U.S. has prohibited IT companies from providing services in the Russian Federation starting September 12. Microsoft (https://t.me/readovkanews/86168) and Notion have already announced the cessation of their activities in Russia.
