Russian developers will no longer be able to receive payments from Google Play as the company has announced a freeze on payment processing.
Notifications about the termination of cooperation have been received by almost all Russian game developers who used bank accounts in Russia to receive payments.
This was reported by the developers themselves on thematic forums, where discussions about the implemented measures have already begun.
The freeze is expected to affect both global sales revenue and monetization, as purchasing apps or subscriptions will become impossible.
Developers clarified on the forum that the measures apply to "all transactions involving money transfers to accounts in the Russian Federation." The cooperation will continue, but its future form remains unclear.
