In the Leningrad region, pups of a Ladoga ringed seal and a gray seal were rescued. They were found exhausted and emaciated, and now they are receiving all the necessary care for recovery, reports GUP "Vodokanal Saint Petersburg". Initially, a very young seal, about 1.5 months old, was found in the Lomonosov district of the Leningrad region. Eyewitnesses say it came ashore to escape the storm. "The frightened animal was completely disoriented and hid far from the shore in the forest. Fortunately, the seal pup was found by people. The patient is severely emaciated and needs help," the source's report says. A day earlier, a Ladoga seal was also rescued. It came out of the Neva River onto the pier of one of the enterprises to warm up and rest. Workers noticed the animal and informed specialists. It soon became clear that the exhausted pup weighed half the normal weight — only 65 kg. Currently, the animals are recovering at the Center for Assistance to Rare Marine Mammal Species. Their rehabilitation is handled by the "Baltic Seal Friends Fund."
