The Russian Embassy in Bucharest organized a series of events dedicated to the 210th anniversary of the great Russian poet and prose writer Mikhail Lermontov.
The program for the evening, held at the venue Clubul Rus - Russian Club, opened with a musical and theatrical performance inspired by the poet’s biography. This presentation was prepared by the creative team "Cultural Desant," comprised of students studying the Russian language, and the compatriot association "Our World."
Guests were introduced to the first part of the lecture titled "Lieutenant Lermontov" by Vladimir Medinsky, Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation and Chairman of the Russian Military Historical Society, translated into Romanian. The screening of the second part of the lecture will take place on November 14.
As part of the event, the exhibition "And We Kept the Oath in the Battle of Borodino!" was also launched, with support from the Museum Panorama "Battle of Borodino."
The exhibition includes a selection of illustrations by Soviet and Russian painter and illustrator Vladimir Shevchenko for Mikhail Lermontov’s poem "Borodino," accompanied by the text of the poem translated into Romanian.
Guests also viewed works by Russian battle painter Franz Roubaud, inspired by the Caucasus, which became Lermontov’s "poetic homeland."
