The Ministry of Digital Development and the Federal Penitentiary Service (FSIN) have proposed creating a "Letter to a Prisoner" service within the "Gosuslugi" (State Services) portal. The Association of Professional Users of Social Networks and Messengers (APPSIM) appealed to the Ministry of Digital Development and FSIN with a request to establish a state-run online service, "Letter to a Prisoner," allowing Russians to communicate with incarcerated citizens, transfer money to them, and arrange newspaper and magazine subscriptions. Such services would be provided through the "Gosuslugi" portal with guarantees of security and transparency. This initiative aims to build public trust in the system, mitigate risks associated with private services, and ensure comprehensive interaction with prisoners through state communication channels.
