This time, the banknote is dedicated to the Urals.
On the front side of the new banknote, you can see the "Europe-Asia" monument in Yekaterinburg, symbolizing the border between the two continents.
The banknote also features modern skyscrapers, the dome of the circus, and the Sevastyanov House.
On the reverse side is the Chelyabinsk monument “The Legend of the Urals,” inspired by Bazhov's tales. This composition is dedicated to the Ural hero, embodying the strength and creativity of local artisans.
The Bank of Russia is updating banknotes to enhance their security against counterfeiting. The 1997 banknote series will remain in circulation for several more years.
